WiFi Billing

WiFi Hotspot Billing System Built for Tanzania

A WiFi billing system lets customers connect to your hotspot, pick a package, pay with mobile money, and get online without you selling vouchers by hand. Farman Connect is a hotspot billing platform built in Zanzibar for operators across Tanzania. You keep 100% of your WiFi sales and pay TZS 16,000 per device each month.

What a hotspot billing system does

When a customer joins your WiFi, the billing system shows a captive portal (the login page). The customer chooses a package such as 12 hours, 24 hours, a week, or a month, then pays. The system confirms the payment, opens internet access for that device, and cuts it off when the time runs out.

A good billing system also handles voucher codes for customers who pay cash, keeps a record of every sale, shows which access points are online, and lets you change prices without touching the router.

How Farman Connect WiFi billing works

Register free on the Farman Connect vendor portal, add your site, and connect your controller or router. You then create your own bundles and prices. Your customers see a branded portal with your name, choose a bundle, and pay with M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas (Tigo Pesa), Airtel Money, or HaloPesa.

Payment confirmation and access are automatic. You follow revenue, active users, and device status from the dashboard on your phone, and you can print voucher cards for cash sales. Farman Connect also sends SMS notifications and offers an equipment shop for access points and routers.

Supported WiFi hardware

TP-Link Omada is fully supported and used in production by Farman Connect operators today. MikroTik (HotSpot and RADIUS), pfSense, OPNsense, Ubiquiti UniFi, and Ruijie Reyee are available in beta, so you can run billing on the equipment most Tanzanian hotspots already use.

If you do not have equipment yet, the Farman Connect team recommends hardware sized for your site, installs it, and configures the billing for you anywhere in Zanzibar, with remote setup for operators on the mainland.

Pricing

The platform fee is TZS 16,000 per adopted access point or router each month. There is no share taken from your WiFi sales: every shilling your customers pay for bundles belongs to you, minus the standard mobile-money processing fee.

Registration on the vendor portal is free, so you can set up your site and bundles before you pay for your first device.

Who uses it

Hotspot entrepreneurs in residential areas, guest houses and lodges, cafés and restaurants, hostels, schools, bus stands, apartments managed by landlords, and small ISPs that want mobile-money billing without building their own software.

Operators such as DeFamily WiFi and Zaid_business run their hotspots on Farman Connect, selling daily and monthly bundles paid by mobile money.
